Return of the Hood

About a year ago I showed a colleague Robby Johnson's Ruins II - to my mind still the "Gold standard" of epic fantasy environment illustration. He said that it exhibited a sense of "Yugen", a Japanese term for mystical grace and subtlety, and it's something I've become obsessed with. I love, and I want to create, art that makes you wonder what's further down that corridor? Where does that passage way lead? What's in there?
